Russian students: Learning Chinese is good for future work and life

Last year, Chinese was included in the Russian national unified examination for the first time, becoming the fifth foreign language chosen by examinees. The examinee in Moscow believes that Chinese is very useful for her career and life. She said: "I want to be a translator for Turkish and Chinese. My parents and I feel that languages are very promising, so we are happy for me.

The candidate from St. Petersburg said: "My future major is Oriental Studies. I am very confident in my language knowledge... I have been learning Chinese for more than two years, and now I can teach Chinese to beginners."

It is reported that the examination of Chinese teaching subjects can be divided into vocabulary, listening, reading, writing and other parts. Candidates believe that due to the lack of management-related research materials in enterprises, it is very important and difficult to prepare for the exam. "There are very few (review) materials, because Chinese language teachers are only in their second year as a Russian national examination subject, so the development situation is extremely difficult. I think the people we choose (take) the Chinese language test these years are really heroes. The hard part is the listening part, and I'm actually quite worried about that."

The most difficult part for candidates is writing. "Because writing Chinese characters requires memorization," he said. "If a person has not studied in China and is not interested in calligraphy, there is very little training for this part."

According to previous reports, Chinese was included in the Russian national unified examination for the first time last year. 289 candidates from 43 regions of Russia submitted their applications for the Chinese subject of the National Unified Examination. The average score of the candidates was 62.5, and one candidate scored a perfect score of 100.
